On Wednesday, a call was made about two hikers above the Nuuanu Reservoir at 4:53 p.m. The Honolulu Fire Department dispatched 13 personnel across 5 units to the scene. The hikers were located and rescued by the Honolulu Fire Departmen team.
The hikers were trapped after descending a steep part of the trail and were unable to continue. First responders arrived at 5:09 p.m. and established a zone for air rescue operations. At 5:30 p.m., a helicopter, Air 1, reached the hikers and conducted a medical assessment. The assessment confirmed the hikers sustained minor injuries.
