First Alert Forecast: Gusty trades are on the doorstep

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – We have a First Alert for gusty trade winds that will be strengthening by Monday afternoon and evening. Windward areas may have northeast winds of 15 to 25 miles by midday Monday, increasing to 20 to 30 miles per hour Tuesday through Wednesday before backing down slightly near the end of the week.

Mostly dry conditions are still expected Monday as the trade winds increase. However, the chance for showers will begin to increase Tuesday night into Wednesday, mostly for windward areas. There’s a First Alert for enhanced moisture in the trades, thanks to an disturbance aloft that will increase shower frequency Thursday and Friday.
