Aloha Halawa District Partners (AHDP) submitted a response yesterday to the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District’s RFP seeking a development team to create a new 25,000-seat stadium and mixed-use district northwest of Honolulu. AHDP is the only bidder for the project after a rival group dropped out in June, but it’s not automatic that AHDP’s bid, which includes Populous, Cordish Cos. and AECOM Hunt in the project team, will be accepted.
The NASED will now evaluate the proposal against the RFP and evaluation criteria. If AHDP’s proposal is evaluated as suitable, it will be selected as the preferred offeror in September. Details of AHDP’s bid won’t be made public until the selection of a preferred offeror (assuming that is AHDP). The only other remaining group, Waiola Development Partners, that previously backed outincluded North American sports business mainstays, Manica Architecture, Stantec and Machete Group.
Should AHDP be selected by NASED, the two parties would then enter a roughly nine-month phase during which they’ll resolve a range of technical matters and negotiate and sign relevant agreements. The state of Hawaii expects to execute final agreements with the preferred offeror, which then becomes the master developer, by June 2025…
