FIRST ALERT: Flash flood warning extended again for Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A FLASH FLOOD WARNING has been extended for parts of Oahu due to heavy rain that cased stream levels to rise in windward areas.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu said the warning is in effect until 12:15 a.m.

The weather service said radar showed heavy showers and storms anchored over the windward side, with peak rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. The ground is saturated enough that even lighter rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches per hour will be enough to trigger flooding…
