A blaze that engulfed a residential structure in Nānākuli was quelled by the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) earlier this week. The incident, which occurred at a single-story dwelling near 87-1460 Akowai Road, prompted a swift reaction from local fire crews. According to an online release from HFD, the 911 call came in at 11:46 a.m. last Sunday, and a contingent of 12 units, manned by 37 personnel, was dispatched to the scene.
The first responders arrived by 11:53 a.m., confronting heavy black smoke billowing from the aforementioned structure.
