Injured man rescued from morning hike at Koko Head

HAWAII KAI, Hawaii (Island News) — An injured hiker was rescued from Koko Head Crater Trail on Thursday morning after being unable to descend on his own.

The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call at 8:28 a.m. on March 27 for a 25-year-old man who suffered an injury while hiking Koko Head.

Firefighters arrived at the trail shortly after and got to the hiker’s location at 8:53 a.m. They treated him and prepared to transport him out of the area by air…
