WAIKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) — Mayor Rick Blangiardi signed Bill 50 which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Waikiki by reducing the amount of festivals on Kalakaua Avenue.
The new law ushers more regulations for street festivals and parades in Waikiki in order to reduce heavy traffic. The bill also welcomes more festivals to be held in more areas on Oahu and not just in this tourism hot spot.
