Local shop to close in Moiliili after nearly 50 years

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – After nearly 50 years of being a staple in Moiliili, a local thrift shop is set to close its doors for good.

The Hidden Treasures Thrift Store first opened in 1978 at the Moiliili Community Center.

“That was a gathering place for the seniors,” said Nadine Nishioka, executive director of the Moiliili Community Center. “So they met there. It was a great time for fellowship, get together, have fun, talk story and at the same time volunteer working at the thrift store.”…
