NU’UANU, Hawaii (Island News) – A hiker who was reported missing on the Lulumahu Falls Trail was found safe on Sunday, April 6.
It was reported to the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) on Saturday night at about 8:40 p.m. that a man, believed to be in his 20s, became separated from his party and was last seen approximately 2 hours earlier while they were descending from the falls. The hiker’s phone was not responding and attempts to contact him were unsuccessful.
HFD crews arrived at the trail at 8:50 p.m. and began to search the trail on foot while the second-arriving unit secured a landing zone to prepare for a search by air. Search efforts ended at 11:27 p.m. and resumed on Sunday at 6:06 a.m…
