E-scooter rider dies after crash in Kalihi

HONOLULU (Island News) — UPDATE: A man who was critically injured in an e-scooter crash in the Palama area on March 11th has passed away from his injuries.

The accident occurred around 7:20 p.m. near a Hele gas station. The 54-year-old man suffered a severe head injury when he crashed his e-scooter. Paramedics treated him on the scene before transporting him to an emergency room in critical condition.

On April 8, 2025, the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division, specifically the Vehicular Homicide Section, was notified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office that the man had died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted to the hospital…
