MAUI, Hawai’i (Island News) — After 19-year-old Jayden Jarnesky-Magana was sentenced to four years probation for stealing and killing her pet pig “Eddie,” animal rescuer Sarah Haynes of Ha’iku said she felt “numb,” among a mix of other emotions.
Haynes cried in court on Wednesday morning during Jarnesky-Magana’s sentencing as she shared about Eddie’s loss.
“Children could hug him. We swam in his pool with him. He was my treasured pet, a therapy pet to many,” Haynes said.
