HONOLULU (Island News) — The building in Honolulu that a Kamaka Air cargo plane crashed near the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport that resulted in the deaths of the plane’s two pilots is being demolished.
Island News has learned that the state Department of Transportation has recently filed documents to hire a contractor to demolish the vacant building on Ualena Street that used to by occupied by Sky Chef.
The estimated cost of the demolition is between $2 million and $3 million. The state owns the building, which was built in 1972…
