The first responders reached the scene by 4:02 p.m., facing a two-story multi-unit building caught in the throes of a blaze that sent plumes of grey and black smoke into the sky, upon arrival firefighters quickly set up their equipment, secured a water supply and initiated an aggressive offensive against the flames, which they managed to bring under control by 4:11 p.m., the firefighting teams then conducted thorough searches within the building to ensure no one was trapped inside. Two individuals and a dog related to the most affected unit were located safe outside the structure.
