Honolulu Fire Department Rapidly Extinguishes Moanalua Residential Blaze; Investigation Underway

Last Thursday evening, a residential building in Moanalua came ablaze, with the Honolulu Fire Department responding swiftly to the emergency call. At approximately 6:11 p.m., HFD units were dispatched to 5579 Bennion Drive after receiving a 911 call reporting the fire, as detailed on the Honolulu Fire Department’s official website. The fire, consuming the garage of a two-story home, was swiftly tackled by 34 fire personnel across 9 units.

According to the HFD release, firefighters arrived on the scene at 6:18 p.m., and found the building’s garage “fully involved in fire.” Strategies were immediately put in place to secure a water source and to carry out an aggressive fire attack, the firefighters also ensured a thorough search to verify that no occupants were inside.
