Sprinklers prevent flames from spreading in Mōʻiliʻili high-rise

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Fire Department investigators are looking into the cause of a fire in a Mōʻiliʻili high-rise on Tuesday.

The 911 call came in shortly after 7 p.m. after flames and smoke were seen coming out of an apartment on the 11th floor of a building on Kamoku Street.

HFD extinguishes school bus fire in Kaimuki

Firefighters responded just a few minutes later and began an aggressive fire attack and searched the apartment to make sure no one else was inside.

HFD said the building’s fire sprinklers activated during the incident and kept the fire contained while firefighters brought the flames under control…
