Hawaiian Telcom Launches Telecommunications Upgrade in East Kapolei, Residents Advised of Construction Impacts

Hawaiian Telcom is starting a month-long infrastructure upgrade in East Kapolei to improve its telecommunications network. Work will begin on May 13 and is expected to finish by June 13. The project will focus on installing new fiber optic cables during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, according to the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.

Residents and others traveling on East Kapolei streets may encounter work crews and Hawaiian Telcom trucks. These vehicles will be stationed near utility boxes for cable installation.
