On Friday, the Honolulu Police Department reported via its Facebook page that officers had responded to a fire at Wahiawa District Park at roughly 11 p.m. Thursday.

By the time officers arrived, they found a playground structure that had just been renovated, fully engulfed in flames. The Honolulu Fire Department determined the fire had been started with an accelerant, confirming the act as arson…
