Bus collision in Waipahu leaves SUV driver injured

WAIPAHU, Hawaii (Island News) — A man is recovering from his injuries after driving his car into the side of a city bus traveling through Waipahu on Thursday evening.

The bus accident happened around 6:03 p.m. on May 8. The 66-year-old man collided into the back end of the bus and the impact caused significant damage to the front of his SUV. The collision was at the intersection of Moloalo Street and Farrington Highway.

This led to lane closures that lasted just under an hour before reopening. The driver was treated by paramedics before they transported him to the hospital in serious condition. There were no reports of any injuries from bus riders…
