WAIANAE, Hawaii (Island News) — Firefighters extinguished a house fire in Waianae in at Pohakea Place that left seven residents displaced.
The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call on Friday aternoon, May 9 about a structure fire. Fire crews arrived on scene at 2:17 p.m. to find a single-story home engulfed in a fire which had spread to the nearby brush.
Firefighters began to douse the flames on the house and the wildland next to it. The homeowner reported that no one was present inside and that everyone safely exited.
The half-acre wildland fire was quickly brought under control at 2:37 p.m. and extinguished at 3:50 p.m. The fire affecting the house was fully extinguished at 5:40 p.m…
