Earthquake off Kau Coast bears no tsunami threat

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Kau on the Big Island Tuesday morning, but officials say no tsunami was generated.

Hawaiian Airlines: No one will lose their miles

According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, the quake took place at approximately 9:38 a.m.

While some residents may have felt light shaking, the event did not pose a tsunami threat, and no damage has been reported.
