Honolulu police arrest suspects after stolen car nearly hits officers

KALIHI, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) arrested a man in the Kalihi area early Tuesday morning after he allegedly stole a vehicle and nearly hit a few police officers.

According to HPD, just after 12:30 a.m. officers saw a stolen vehicle in the Kalihi area and conducted a traffic stop.

As the officers approached the vehicle, a 33-year-old man revved the engine and drove forward, nearly hitting three officers. The 33-year-old then continued to drive forward and hit two unmarked police vehicles, which caused the stolen car to stop…
