Waipahu house fire ruled arson

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A fire that tore through a vacant home in Waipahu over the weekend has been classified as arson, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.

Hōkūleʻa, Hikianalia continue trek to Tahiti

The blaze broke out around 6:43 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, at a small, single-story home on Awalau Street. When firefighters arrived, the structure was already engulfed in flames.

Crews launched a defensive attack and had the fire under control by 6:56 p.m. It was fully extinguished shortly after 8 p.m. No injuries were reported.
