HONOLULU (KHON2) — A male pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while standing on the shoulder on Kamehameha Highway in Haleʻiwa.
The collision happened at around 1:30 p.m. on June 14. According to officials, a vehicle was heading west on the highway when it crossed into the other lane and hit a traffic sign.

Honolulu police said the vehicle hit the 20-year-old man, which caused him to be pinned between two vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old male, stayed at the scene. Tthe driver and his passenger, an 18-year-old female, were not injured.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police are investigating the matter, but do not believe that speed, drugs or alcohol were contributing factors…
