Woman, 74, dies after Honolulu hit-and-run

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 74-year-old woman died from her injuries sustained by being struck by a vehicle in Honolulu on June 17, the Honolulu Police Department confirmed.

According to police, the woman was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Makaloa Street at the Kaheka Street intersection within a marked crosswalk shortly after noon.

‘There are too many people losing their lives’: Residents want safer road

The driver fled the scene in an unknown direction and has yet to be identified, police said.

The woman was initially taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, where she would later succumb to her injuries on June 19.
