On a quiet night in Aiea, the sound of sirens disrupted the stillness as Honolulu Fire Department teams rushed to a residential building at 98-142 Lipoa Place. A fire had broken out in a second-floor apartment, prompting a 911 call at 10:13 p.m. on June 26. The HFD, consisting of 9 units and 34 personnel, was quick to respond, arriving just six minutes later at 10:19 p.m., according to the HFD official report.

The team wasted no time in establishing a water supply and launching an aggressive fire attack. They swiftly carried out a search of the premises to ensure the safety of all potential occupants. Nearby apartments were also checked, guarding against the fire’s spread, a strategy that proved effective. The blaze was brought under control by 10:27 p.m. and declared fully extinguished a minute later. Following the incident, a male in his 20s received assessment from the Emergency Management Services, but details on his condition remain unreported.
