HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A husband-and-wife duo known for building champions in and out of the ring are now celebrating the opening of their very own boxing gym. It’s a space they hope will continue to inspire, protect, and empower local youth.
Ricky and Hanna Tangaro, former professional fighters from Waianae, held a blessing Friday morning for their newly expanded training facility, HR Boxing in Waipahu. The couple has been training kids in their backyard for years, but the new gym provides more room, more equipment, and more opportunity to keep keiki off the streets and on a positive path.
“We just want to give them something good, somewhere they can go, somewhere safe,” said Ricky Tangaro. “It’s not just about boxing. It’s about life skills, about discipline, responsibility, and respect.”…
