HONOLULU (KHON2) — We are months away from the opening of the second phase of Honolulu’s Skyline rail project. The city says riders should expect some changes as officials begin trial operations. But both officials and riders are excited about the possibilities.
Honolulu Rail’s next segment to open by October
Skyline has been in operation for about two years now. Riders say so far, so good.
“Now I can get into town in 15 minutes rather than an hour 10,” said Paul Hannigan, Skyline rider. “So you’re enjoying it then? Absolutely. It’s clean and fun. And everybody’s really relaxed, more people are using it. I’m looking forward to the day when I’m standing like this.”
“I’m glad we got the rail, makes it a lot easier for me to get to work from home,” said Venita Evans, Skyline rider. “It’s been very convenient. It runs every 10 minutes so I don’t have to wait too long if I miss one. And it’s comfortable.”…
