HONOLULU (KHON2) — Waiʻanae High School is now home to the state’s first Health Learning Lab. It’s a major step toward building Hawaiʻi’s healthcare workforce. The project is being celebrated as a major step in bringing together school leaders, lawmakers, community groups and healthcare partners.
The lab is part of ʻAulama I Ke Ola, which means to light the torch to health and well-being. It transforms Building X into a training site where high school students will get hands-on clinical experience and earn certifications that lead to real jobs.
Once complete, the lab will prepare students for healthcare careers while they are still in school…
