WINDWARD OAHU, Hawaii (Island News) — A head-on bus crash near Kualoa Regional Park on Sunday led to a man’s death after he tried to do a wheelie while riding a moped.
The fatal collision involving the moped rider, a 23-year-old man, occurred at about 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 3. The accident happened on Kamehameha Highway north of Johnson Road, in the Kualoa area.
According to reports to the Honolulu Police Department, the moped rider was traveling south on Kamehmeha Highway when he tried to perform a wheelie and lost control of his vehicle.
