Deliberately set fire in Waipahu has area residents worried over safety

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A fire believed to be set on purpose at a Waipahu homeless encampment is stoking fears of safety for homeowners who live nearby.

The blaze, which ignited last Wednesday, burned two abandoned homes on Kaniau Place. The structures are a part of a cluster of plantation-style houses that have become home to squatters.
