1 critical in Chinatown acid attack

CHINATOWN, Hawaii (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department responded to an apparent acid attack in the Chinatown area on Friday, Aug. 8.

Officials said District 1 police officers responded to an “assault complaint” shortly after 10 p.m.

Man hospitalized after apparent stabbing in Chinatown

According to HPD, witnesses said the victim, a 30-year-old man, was crossing the street when an unknown suspect “threw an unidentified liquid in his face, causing several burns.”

Honolulu Fire Department later identified the liquid as sulfuric acid, HPD said…
