HONOLULU (KHON2) — A motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and a bus occurred near the intersections of Kuhio and Royal Hawaiian Avenues in Waikiki on the afternoon of Aug. 15, the Honolulu Police Department said.
At approximately 4 p.m., a 57-year-old male pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk when he tripped and fell into traffic, where he was struck by a 56-year-old male bus driver, HPD’s Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section said.
How can you avoid a traffic collision?
The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
After arriving at the hospital, the pedestrian’s status worsened, and was later listed in critical condition.
