City of Honolulu Calls for Developer Proposals to Transform Kalihi Site into Affordable Housing Near Future Mokauea Skyline Station

The City and County of Honolulu is looking for developers to build housing on a 2.25-acre site in Kalihi, including the former Dee Lite Bakery at 1930 Dillingham Boulevard and a nearby parcel at 1907 Eluwene Street, near the future Mokauea Skyline Station. Kevin D. Auger, director-designate of the Department of Housing and Land Management, said, “Kalihi’s TOD plan (2014) cites affordable housing as the community’s top priority, with strong demand projected for rental homes near transit.” The city plans for more than 150 new affordable homes, and proposals are open until October 10, according to Aloha State Daily.
