A month away from retirement, Officer Arnold Cayabyab was recognized as Employee of the Month for his outstanding investigative work and lasting contributions to public safety.
Cayabyab was honored for his role in two recent high-impact cases that led to the removal of illegal firearms and narcotics from the community.
On June 19, Cayabyab responded to a reckless endangerment incident in Hanapēpē, where his experience and attention to detail were crucial in advancing the case. His initial investigation helped secure and execute a search warrant that resulted in the recovery of multiple ghost guns, unregistered firearms, ammunition, and high-capacity magazines.
Just 10 days later, he responded to a complaint in ʻEleʻele and observed drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle. His proactive actions led to the seizure of the vehicle and the issuance of a search warrant, uncovering about 90 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, and additional drug paraphernalia…
