Providing aloha for generations, Gladys’ Lei Stand could be on verge of closing in Honolulu

HONOLULU (Island News) — One of Hawaii’s most historic lei businesses looks to continue its legacy, but it could be in severe jeopardy.

Bonnie Groendyke, Gladys’ Lei Stand owner told Island News Sunday, “For my grandma, I just know that she was a fighter too, my grandma had dealt with the states many times, and for me to give up and not do what she has done, and done in her position, would be wrong of me.”

Galdys’ Lei Stand (as it’s known today) has been operating for numerous decades. Originally at the Aloha Tower Pier , it’s now located at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu…
