Hawaii police officer whose K-9 died now on regular patrol, under criminal investigation

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The Hawai’i County police officer whose K-9 Archer reportedly died after being left in a squad car for an “unacceptable period of time” last Thursday, is now on regular patrol and no longer a part of the K-9 unit.

The transition came because the officer’s five-year rotation in the police department’s vice unit came to an end.

Because she has not been charged with a crime, we are not identifying the officer who allegedly left Archer unattended…
