An O‘ahu man is facing drug charges after a search of his vehicle yielded nearly 6 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.
The incident occurred on Sept. 10 when Hawai‘i Island police made a traffic stop in East Hawai‘i, where Sione Misinale, 29, of Honolulu, was an occupant. According to a press release from police, Vice officers later executed a narcotics search warrant upon an Audi sedan. They recovered a combined total of 2,668.95 net grams or 5.88 pounds of a substance that tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine.
Misinale remains in custody in lieu of $502,000 bail and is slated to make his initial appearance in Hilo District Court today.
