Nuuanu YMCA receives $300K for new ‘intergenerational room’

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The YMCA of Honolulu is getting a major boost to help reimagine its Nuʻuanu facility.

The nonprofit welcomed a $300,000 gift from Hawaiʻi State Federal Credit Union with matching funds from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Monday.

The funding will go toward a new “intergenerational room” at the Nuʻuanu YMCA, designed to bring together keiki, teens, kūpuna, and families in one shared space…
