The New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District project team on Thursday finalized its first two agreements with Aloha Halawa District Partners, clearing the way for demolition of the current stadium and construction of a new, modern venue in Halawa.
The Stadium Development and Operation Agreement grants AHDP the authority to dismantle the aging Aloha Stadium, then design, build, operate and maintain the replacement facility before eventually turning it back over to the state.
The plan calls for about a year to complete demolition, two and a half years for construction and a 30-year term for operations and maintenance.
