Guard shack fire at Bellows Air Force Station was intentionally set, investigators say

WAIMANALO, Hawaii (Island News) — A fire that began inside a guard shack at Bellows Air Force Station late Thursday night was intentionally set, according to fire investigators.

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a building fire located at 515 Tinker Rd in Waimanalo at 11:49 p.m. on Sept. 25. When the first unit of firefighters arrived at the entrance to Bellows Air Force Station at 11:54 p.m., they found a small, shed-like structure filled with smoke.

Through a fire attack, the fire was brought under control at 11:57 p.m. and by 11:59 p.m. it was extinguished. There was no one inside at the time of the fire…
