These Hawaii coffee shops are brewing a sense of belonging

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Local coffee shops are known for more than the brews they serve. They’re also places to study, gather, and connect.

In honor of National Coffee Day, Hawaii News Now checked in with local shop owners to learn more about their coffee culture community.

Lance Roylo, owner of Hello Again coffee shop in Chinatown, envisioned a shop that blended high-tech service with old-fashioned connection.

“I pitched (our company) the idea of a fast-serve coffee shop that utilizes technology to make faster service and lower prices as much as possible,” Roylo said, while noting that his other top priority was “really to create an environment of community here in Hawaii.”…
