City set to take over Skyline phase 2, opens to the public Oct. 16

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The second phase of Skyline has taken two years and three months, and it’s finally ready to open, with many expecting big changes to their commute.

Days of riding the bus to the Honolulu Airport may soon be coming to an end for many. And they’re excited about it.

“I can catch the bus from my house and then I can go straight to the rail cause it comes like what, every 10 minutes,” said Malia Togia, a Kalihi resident who works at the airport. “So it really is gonna help me so much so I wouldn’t have to wait the whole 30 minutes to an hour for the bus at the transit.”
