HONOLULU (KHON2) – Hawaiian Humane Society wrapped up its Sept. adoption event this past weekend with hundreds of animals placed into new homes.
In total, 320 cats, 230 dogs, 16 rabbits, seven guinea pigs, two tortoises, and one bird were adopted.
Hawaiian Humane Society waives all adoption fees for weekend
The event helped reduce overcrowding, but Hawaiian Humane still has close to 1,000 animals in its care. Some are receiving medical treatment, others are in foster homes, and many are waiting to be adopted.
