The man in charge of the Honolulu Police Department, while the Police Commission recruits a new chief, said he’s already making big changes for the better and hopes to be selected for the permanent job.

Interim Chief Rade Vanic was appointed to the temporary role in August 2025, when former Chief Joe Logan retired.
