Suspect in Hawaii Island crime spree has history of property damage offenses

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Naalehu resident Pomaikai Olson, 31, is accused of holding four people at gunpoint, stealing three vehicles, causing multiple car crashes, and an attempted burglary, all within a span of thirty minutes on Saturday afternoon.

After the alleged crime spree in Volcano on Hawaii Island, Olson is now charged with 27 offenses, including robbery, vehicle theft, and reckless endangerment.

“This is definitely an extreme case,” Hawaii Police Department Capt. Rio Amon-Wilkins said. “Something that just came in initially as a reckless driver complaint turned into a case of this magnitude.”…
