Oʻahu sees 67th traffic death: A 70-year-old pedestrian

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 70-year-old man died following a motor vehicle collision on the Liliha Street H-1 Freeway on-ramp, the Honolulu Police Department said.

The death stems from a Sept. 30 collision, when a driver struck the 70-year-old pedestrian as he was crossing against a “Do Not Walk” signal, police said.

Man, 51, dead following Kalihi collision

Initially, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital via Honolulu Emergency Medical Services to the hospital in critical condition. The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene.

Several weeks later, on Oct. 15, HPD reported that the man had died from his injuries…
