HONOLULU (KHON2) – Honolulu firefighters rescued a man Sunday evening, Oct. 19, after he became lost on the Makaua Hidden Valley Trail in Ka‘a‘awa.
Female, 57, rescued on the Hanakapi‘ai Trail
The incident occured when a male hiker in his 20’s became lost and stuck in a steep area, unable to make his way down.
At around 5:57 p.m., the HFD responded with seven units staffed with 20 personnel.
A rescue team aboard HFD’s Air 1 located the man around 7:09 p.m. and airlifted him to a nearby landing zone, where he was evaluated and confirmed to be uninjured…
