Family pleads for help in search for missing paddler off Kailua Beach

In the latest update, officials said there were no new clues in this missing paddler case, which initially began on Sunday, Oct. 19. HFD said they officially concluded the search at sundown on Oct. 22.

“It’s really hard cause he’s gone without a trace, there’s nothing you know,” said Mele Mitchell, the paddler’s cousin. “We did confirm that he was on the water. There was people who came forward that said they saw him on the water, so that was nice to know he was in the water that morning doing something that he loved and enjoyed.”

Though the official search is over, loved ones say that they will keep searching for him…
