Briefing to update state lawmakers about new SNAP work, certification requirements

Members of the state House Committee on Human Services & Homelessness on Wednesday (Oct. 29) will be updated by Hawaiʻi Department of Human Services administration about new federal work and certification requirements for participants of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP and more commonly referred to as food stamps, and the implementation timeline.

The briefing is planned for 11 a.m. in Conference Room 309 at the state Capitol in Honolulu.

Presenters will be:

  • Scott Morishige, division administrator; Benefit, Employment and Support Services Division, Hawaiʻi Department of Human Services.
  • Scott Nakasone, assistant division administrator; Benefit, Employment and Support Services Division, Hawaiʻi Department of Human Services.
