Honolulu City Council pushes to halt North Shore gondola project

HONOLULU (Island News) – The Honolulu City Council is urging the Department of Planning and Permitting to cancel the permit for the Kamananui agribusiness and gondola project on the North Shore.

Resolution 25-305, introduced by Council Chair Tommy Waters and Council Floor Leader Esther Kia’aina, highlighted concerns over the project’s progress and compliance with conditions from the 2019 permit. Changes in land-use laws and community impacts since its approval were also noted.
